A R T I S T ’S   S T A T E M E N T
I do the work I do because I am inspired to.  I aspire to do more work from a live model; to become more confident in drawing from the model.  I would like to become more proficient in analyzing a pose.  I want to be as realistic in my work as is possible.

In my work, I look for lines that connect the piece throughout.  I like to experiment with new techniques when I discover a new one.  When doing a drawing, I sometimes like to start working with a middle value, that way there is already information on the page and I can build upon that.

In my current work, I try to make the drawing believable so that when it is hung on the wall, there is a palpable presence in the room.  The biggest obstacle is being objective about my own work, so feedback from others is vital.  My job is to give the silence of the model metaphorical vocal chords.
